ONE BODY

The church is called “the body of Christ” (Eph 1:23). Jesus is “the head of the body, the church” (Col 1:18,24). There are no popes, presidents or archbishops in the one church in the Bible. There is one body and one head of the body, Jesus. There are “many members, BUT ONE BODY” (I Cor 12:20; Eph 2:16; Eph 4:4; Rom 16:16). Since there is but one spiritual body of Christ and that is His church, how many Churches of Christ are there? Bible answer: ONE. When a person believes Jesus is the Son of God, repents of his sins, confesses his faith and is baptized (immersed) into Christ, God forgives him and adds him to the one church Christ purchased whether he is in Africa or Asia or America. God adds all saved people to ONE CHURCH; they are all members of His body (Mk 16:15-16; Acts 2:37-42; Romans 10:9-10; I Cor 12:20). Jesus has “all authority over all things” in His body, the church. There is to be no schism, division or denomination. All members submit to one authority, Jesus, the one head (I Cor 12:12-20). No one “joins the church of his choice.” Ask for booklet: “One Church.”
