IF Christ stood before you right now and said: “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved,” what would you do? He did say these exact words in Mark 16:16. Would you conclude baptism is essential to being saved?
IF the Lord saves us without baptism, why did Peter say: “Repent and be baptized every one of you for the forgiveness of your sins?” Those who were convicted of their sin were pierced in their
heart … 3,000 were baptized that same day. (Acts 2:37-47)
IF the Lord promises salvation without obedience in baptism (immersion), why would the apostle Peter have said “baptism does now save us?” (I Peter 3:21)
IF sprinkling or pouring water on a baby (or on an adult) is true baptism, why does the Bible say there is only “one baptism” and that baptism is to be “buried” under water? This is in Romans 6:3-6 and Acts 8:26-39. Jesus said a person cannot enter heaven without being “born of the water and the spirit” (John 3:5). To be born is “to come out of,” just like a natural birth.
IF baptism puts you “into Christ” and “into the one body” which is the church of Christ (I Cor. 12:13; Col 1:18), why would you join a denomination started by men which is not mentioned in the Bible?
