GRATITUDE

Dear Dr. Duffy and all:
It was my good fortune to have your services on September 17th after having suffered a fall. It may not be normal or expected that you receive any word of gratitude, but I feel compelled to return and say “Thank You.” All of your attendants made me feel assured that with their training and state-of-the art equipment, I was receiving the very best available. Some think if you get paid for a service, you do not deserve and should not expect any words of gratitude. I disagree. On one occasion, our Lord Jesus healed ten lepers as He was traveling along the border between Samaria and Galilee. But only one returned to thank Him. Jesus asked: “ Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go, your faith has made you well.” (Luke 17: 11-19)

While I cannot give the name of each of those who attended my needs, I do recall the name of Danny. When asked if he had heard the old Irish song Danny Boy, he said yes. Here are the words to the same music in Christian hymnals which I promised to send to him:

My Savior dear, I love Thee, O I love Thee, For Thou hast made my blinded eyes to see… ETC. (full text sent upon request)

Gratefully, Alvin Jennings
